What a busy day after a leisurely coffee at the golf club it's off to see one of our brides venue request items - a bit secretive as don't want to give to much away. Then straight on to see 'The Natterjacks' in action at Brampton Manor, who will be performing at our Charity ball in October.

Sourcing some antique frames for a bride who's vintage theme is brilliant.

These brides are so hands on and full of really good ideas could do with setting them on freelance..... When their own weddings are out of the way of course.

Good job Sundays are not for relaxing !!

Charity Ball in aid of Ashgate Hospice and NHBCH

The Charity Ball this year is in aid of two very worthy local charities

• Ashgate Hospice
• National Hereditary Breast Cancer Helpline Charity

We are all touched one way or another with either family or friends and these worthy causes offer support that helps ease the pain for everyone.

Our Ball at Casa Hotel on Saturday 5 October 2013 is designed to ensure everyone has an amazing time from start to finish.

It is formal attire but there is also the option of 'Gangsters and Molls' as this is the theme of the ball.

The festivities include:

• Drinks reception
• 4 course meal
• Professional photographer for formal pictures by 'Wings Photography'
• Silent auction
• Live entertainment some fantastic sets from 'The Natterjacks' and 'The Buddies'
• Disco into the early hours by 'Tenacious dj'

Vintage cream tea in the mix

We are on the search for tea sets and cake stands for one of our weddings who instead of coffee and mints is doing tea and home made cakes.

Our collection has begun and we already have some stunning sets and cake stands. The nice thing is talking to the people who some of these have belonged to and the memories the hold..... Priceless

One of our brides is having her pre wedding shoot today on her birthday with the fabulous photographer Simon Revill just know they are going to be brilliant.

Next week we meet up with bridal dress designer Kay Hobson to discuss designs for our bride who has 11 bridesmaids for her big day...

Updates and stuff

Looking back at some of our favourite photos for some of our previous weddings.

Liz and Richard who married at Hodsock Priory, this wedding was fabulous and we loved one of their wedding gifts a tandem bike!

Gemma and Tom who regularly hike had some if their photos on Curber Edge, scary stuff for a planner but amazing results.

All weddings have special memories and each one very different like Laura and Steve who had lots if guests over from South Africa...

As we reflect with fondness we look forward to 2013 in particular with Serena and Richard and Leanne and Tom.......

Also Our chosen charity this year NHBCH the founder Wendy Watson who has supported and raised awareness over the years. In fact single handed pioneered for this treatment. One amazing woman who was awarded an MBE so well deserved....

Charity Summer Ball in aid of NHBCH

 

In September we held our annual Charity Ball and this year our chosen charity was for the very inspirational Wendy Watson who has spearheaded the National Hereditary Breast Cancer Helpline, won Tesco Mother of the Year and also successfully published a book about her struggles to raise awareness called 'I'm still standing'.

The event was a complete sell out and we had a fantastic night which included a drinks reception, 4 course meal, silent auction and entertainment from:

• Female vocalist Melissa Amy Lye currently studying at Sir Paul McCartneys Performing Arts University (LIPA)
• Swing male vocalist Chris Heathcote
• Female vocalist Laura Ashby recent winner of Chesterfields 'Search for a Star' - Laura released her debut single on 1st October 2012 to coincide with the 5th anniversary of Help for Heroes charity. All profits from the sale of the CD will be donated to the charity.
• Headline Band - 'BOYZALOUD' a 4 piece local Take That/Westlife tribute band who have played our events before and never dissapoint the guests
• Tenacious DJ finished the event into the early hours

The event raised £1200 towards NHBCH for the continued awareness raising that Wendy and her gang of helpers do tirelessly.

Laura & Steve's Wedding - Peak Edge Hotel at the Red Lion

Supporting Laura and Steve throughout the whole of their wedding planning was a pleasure so that we could ensure that their special day was everything they could have wished for.

We recommended many of the fantastic suppliers that we work with and Laura and Steve were not disappointed with the standards to ensure that everything was perfect for them.

Finding the venue was not difficult as The Peak Edge Hotel at the Red Lion at Stan Edge fit all the requirements.

Emma at Clover Leaf designed the invitations to Laura and Steve's exact specification and some were completed early so the couple could take them to South Africa the year before to deliver to Steve's family.

Laura had already seen a dress prior to her visit to Steph at Gracie Blue at Matlock, but had not really found 'The Dress' and to be fair it was a close call between the classy sophisticated dress or the princess dress...... classy sophistication won...

Gel Bridal Style - Geraldine and Sara(Laura's Sister) spent the morning perfecting Laura and the bridesmaids hair and make up.

Tineke Floral Designs Ltd were the next on the tick list and Kerry provided Laura with some fantastic flowers and table centre displays.

Candy at Love Candy Cakes was in high demand as Steve loved going back for more cake tasting to finally decide on the flavours of their 3 tier bow and broach cake.

Having Angela and Sarah from Forever Young Photography to capture the day meant that the photographs were in safe hands as they were kept busy throughout the day.

The Peak Edge Hotel at the Red Lion and Carly in particular were fabulous and I felt reasurred being a guest on the day is always difficult for a Wedding Planner as it is difficult to switch off. In Carly's capable hands I had no reservations, the service and food were excellent.

Michael Moore was the Buble tribute that started the evening off as guests danced the night away......

This wedding was made extra special by all the South African family members who had travelled over for the wedding.......
