Wonderland Charity Ball in aid of Ashgate Hospice

This weekend we held our annual Charity Ball at the Casa Hotel in Chesterfield in aid of Ashgate Hospice.

We had a fabulous line up of entertainment for our guests starting with a drinks reception to open the proceedings. After a 4 course meal Rachel, Hannah and Jen from Pole Athletics Chesterfield did an outstanding Alice in Wonderland themed performance to the delight of our guests.

Who had the guests dancing the night away..

The evening was in aid of Ashgate Hospice and guests donated to the raffle and took part in a silent auction (final amount raised TBA)

Yesterday was the wedding of Serena and Richard at Peak Edge Hotel Red Lion and 15 months or so ago when this was all planned seemed a long time ago. 

When suggesting suppliers to our couples we always give a choice but were very pleased when Serena and Richard decided on some of our favourite suppliers:

• Peak Edge at Red Lion

Simon makes his photography stand out from the rest and when all the official ones are done  it gives you a flavour of his excellence in his field. The main photo to everyone else was a mound of grass.. to Simon it was a photo opportunity

Likewise Candy creates cakes that you can only dream of as she takes ideas from the couple then turns their ideas into a creative masterpiece that tastes sensational.........

The evenings guests were entertained by:

The jewel in the crown at Peak Edge is Carly who goes the extra mile when dealing with couples and ensures their wedding is exclusive to them her professionalism, organisation and customer service is a credit to the venue.....

The day was perfect even the no show of the sun didn't spoil it and everyone partied on into the early hours.

A big thank you to Dizzy Dreams for their chair covers to complete the look that Serena and Richard planned ....

The Charity Ball this year is in aid of two very worthy local charities

• Ashgate Hospice
• National Hereditary Breast Cancer Helpline Charity

We are all touched one way or another with either family or friends and these worthy causes offer support that helps ease the pain for everyone.

Our Ball at Casa Hotel on Saturday 5 October 2013 is designed to ensure everyone has an amazing time from start to finish.

It is formal attire but there is also the option of 'Gangsters and Molls' as this is the theme of the ball.

The festivities include:

• Drinks reception
• 4 course meal
• Professional photographer for formal pictures by 'Wings Photography'
• Silent auction
• Live entertainment some fantastic sets from 'The Natterjacks' and 'The Buddies'
• Disco into the early hours by 'Tenacious dj'

Charity Summer Ball in aid of NHBCH

 

In September we held our annual Charity Ball and this year our chosen charity was for the very inspirational Wendy Watson who has spearheaded the National Hereditary Breast Cancer Helpline, won Tesco Mother of the Year and also successfully published a book about her struggles to raise awareness called 'I'm still standing'.

The event was a complete sell out and we had a fantastic night which included a drinks reception, 4 course meal, silent auction and entertainment from:

• Female vocalist Melissa Amy Lye currently studying at Sir Paul McCartneys Performing Arts University (LIPA)
• Swing male vocalist Chris Heathcote
• Female vocalist Laura Ashby recent winner of Chesterfields 'Search for a Star' - Laura released her debut single on 1st October 2012 to coincide with the 5th anniversary of Help for Heroes charity. All profits from the sale of the CD will be donated to the charity.
• Headline Band - 'BOYZALOUD' a 4 piece local Take That/Westlife tribute band who have played our events before and never dissapoint the guests
• Tenacious DJ finished the event into the early hours

The event raised £1200 towards NHBCH for the continued awareness raising that Wendy and her gang of helpers do tirelessly.

Charity Summer Ball - in aid of NHBCH

We are extremely excited for our Charity Ball this Saturday at Casa Hotel in aid of National Hereditary Breast Cancer Helpline spearheaded by the amazing Wendy Watson.

It is very humbling when you know what Wendy has achieved and how she has campained tirelessly against bureacracy, so we are only to happy to do our bit and help raise vital funds to support this courageous woman.

Wendy has published a book 'I'm still Standing' of her struggle and support she has given to thousands of women fighting this disease.

Abba Tribute Event

'Dancing queen feel the beat of the tamberine'.......... although this event was a few months ago the pictures show what a fabulous night this was.

Alot of the photographs are courtesy of Ian Boler Photography who was snapping away all evening.

Our guests had the pleasure of Luke Michael who opened the evenings entertainment getting the party started in great style followed by the rendition of Abba songs from the Abba Tribute girls Agnetha & Frida.

Lizzie & John's Wedding @ Cressbrook Hall

We had the privilege of doing our 'On the day Co-ordination' for Lizzie and John who held their wedding at the fabulous Cressbrook Hall in Derbyshire.

The theme of the wedding was 1940's Vintage and this couple were very hands on and creative when it came to how they wanted the venue to look for their special day.

Lizzie and John's attention to detail was very impressive even down to the hand made bunting,decorations and some of the hand picked meadow flowers all added to the special touches that they had planned.

Jemma Watts – owner & photographer of Pearl Pictures made the special day for Lizzie and John even more special with the amazing pictures she captured throughout the day.

Some of our favourite suppliers were also involved in making this day truly special for Lizzie and John with the flowers provided by Kerry of Tineke Floral Designs Ltd and Tenacious DJ.

This wonderful couple made our job so enjoyable leading up to and on the day and after such awful weather even the sun came out in time so they could have their ceremony outside and then celebrate with the superb scenery that Cressbrook Hall offers in the beautiful Peak District.

We have 3 very busy weeks upon us now - venue visit tomorrow with Serena & Richard one of our 2013 couples then a girly night doing the favours and finalising details with Nancy & James in readiness for their wedding this weekend at Bolsover Castle ..... Praying for sunshine for this wonderful couple...

Next week we have a visit to one of the venues we will be working with and a consultation meeting with a couple who are getting married in 2013.

Onto our Abba Tribute event at Casa Hotel on 5th May this really is going to be a fabulous event...... Then straight into our preparations for Lizzie and John who are holding their vintage themed wedding at Cressbrook Hall in Buxton, such a stunning location. All the preparation with this couple we can't wait to see all the decorations and final visual over the 2 day event....Should be awesome....

We have a few busy weekends with our couples who are tying the knot in April and May.

Charity Cheque presentation

Derbyshire Event & Wedding Planners celebrated raising £1,700 for Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity at the Cabaret Event held at Casa in February.
