Round up of the year

This year has been a very enjoyable year for Derbyshire Wedding Planners and Vintage Tea Belles...

For us it is about surrounding yourself with fantastic suppliers, ones who have high standards and will deliver first class service especially for outdoor weddings..

All our weddings have been special in one way or another but one of our memorable weddings was that of Cassie & Phil. They married in Bakewell and then had their celebrations in fields in the Peak District. The elements where against everyone on the day as torrential rain battered the traditional marquee and rain ran like a river down the field... As a planner all you can do is be solution focused and make it work... Thankfully the sun came out later in the day so not all was ruined. And this couple were so relaxed and just rolled with it.... After all you can plan as much as you like but no one controls the weather !

The marquee held it's own, likewise the wedding of Guy & Katie another outdoor wedding where our friends Duncan & Mathew aka Peak Tipis provided stunning Tipis for the celebrations at Monsal Dale in the Peak Dustrict. The rain all evening didn't stop the partying and inside the Tipis it was as if there was not a drop of rain outside..

This year Vintage Tea Belles launched their range of vintage Hen accessories and are proving very popular

We also started providing chair covers as a service which is also going well our last event this Saturday ...

And finally Derbyshire Wedding Planners made Regional Finalist in the Wedding Industry Awards to complete our round up of 2014..... So from our team we want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year ...

Tipi wedding in the Peak District at Monsal Dale

We were delighted to be involved in the wedding of Guy & Katie who married at Taddington church then had a reception at Monsal dale in a field..... Not just any way to celebrate their marriage,  this was in Tipis supplied by Peaktipis...

Guy and Katie wanted to celebrate in Derbyshire where Katie is from and her family still reside. They had lots of family and guests make the journey north and some flew in for the wedding...

We recommended some other of our favourite suppliers like Creative Chef and Luxury Loos who provided water to site being in a field with no utilities an essential commodity.

The couple had an army of friends and family who arrived on site 4 days prior to help create the vision Katie and Guy wanted for their big day... Especially Amanda their 'artistic director' .....

Other family members helped with the wedding cake and the cheese table..

Not forgetting this was an outdoor wedding even the rain that came down for a few hours couldn't dampen their spirits. Guests used the photo booth in the Horse Box, the outdoor bar tent that was manned by the Monsal Head public House and the Taddington  fish and Chip van that arrived on site at 9pm to everyone's delight....

The indoor 'Wine Station' was an instant hit with everyone ....

Guest partied late into the night in this fabulous Peak District location

Emily & Chris Derbyshire Wedding.....

I first met Emily and Chris early in 2014 in the small Derbyshire village of Chrich the village where Emily's family live.

They were getting married in the village Church and their reception at Makeney Hall in Milford, Derbyshire.

Emily & Chris wanted the Milford Suite full if colour and with help from family they had made lots of colourful pieces to adorn the room and courtyard.

The cake was hand painted by Emily and Emily's mum handmade the bride and groom figures.

I wasn't at all surprised when Emily looking stunning and sophisticated revealed her bright red bridal shoes.
A very colourful enjoyable wedding indeed....

Outdoor wedding in the Peak District

We have had the pleasure of being involved in Cassie and Phil's wedding in the Peak Distict on the top of a hill open to all the elements......

This venue in Wardlow has some stunning views from every angle and as we arrived on site on Thursday there was glorious sun to welcome us..... Hinstock marquees were soon erecting their traditional marquee for the forthcoming festivities...

This wedding was a truly family affair as everyone chipped in with making bunting, creating a fabulous children's play tent, and a beer tent with kegs of beer added a perfect touch.  Generally everyone mucking in to get the site ready for the wedding of Cassie & Phil..

The day started with lots of rain.... And lots more..... But the sun came out at the right moments for photos and then the sun came out for the happy couple and their guests to party outside.

Food was prepared by Happy Hogs from Yorkshire, these are a company that I would definitely recommend likewise with Hannah and Robert from Fields for Venues and Luxury Loos who simply go out of their way to help and ensure everything runs smoothly......

Set up was particularly challenging dodging the rain but got there in the end .....

Angie and Mark tie the knot

Overjoyed and exceptionally pleased for my friend Angie when Mark asked her to become his wife.

As we sat discussing the big day, Angie knew exactly what she wanted their day to be like not much fuss just a relaxed day with family and friends and lots of Fun....

They decided on the Fox and Goose at Pudding Pie Hill, Old Brampton for their ceremony and wedding celebrations a favourite for Mark.

Angie is lucky to have lots of family and friends in the business and it was no surprise that Angie's mum Glenda Scarborough and her friend Rita Swain had a really long to do list for the 'Big Day' including the fabulous cake table, all the flowers, table centrepieces and hand made rustic hessian sashes for the chairs etc .......It looked stunning and just what Angie had envisaged.

Angie found her dress through a family friend Emma one of the owners at Nora Eve Bridal Boutique. Emma & Hollie at Nora Eve introduced Angie to the amazing designers at Timeless Couture to design Angie's dream dress.

Having a dress designed to your exacting specification is a truly spectacular experience and Timeless Couture definitely created a masterpiece. Angie also had her shoes from the Rachel Simpson range and they finished the effect perfectly.

Mark chose suits by Jeff Banks and the bridesmaids were Amanda Wyatt in a style not dissimilar to the brides in a pale soft pink.

Some of the pictures capture the love this couple share perfectly.

We wish Angie and Mark a lifetime of happiness together .....
