Derbyshire Event & Wedding Planners visited and sampled the delicious food at the new

Casa Hotel in Chesterfield for future events and all agreed the place definitely has the 'Wow Factor'

The Casa hotel features include:

The Spanish style theme and ambiance it generates sets this hotel out from the rest the minute you enter the reception area, which has some very quirky and unique sculptures. The whole hotel has a feel of luxury from the bar and lounge area to the high specification bedrooms, this standard of room would not be out of place in London, New York or Los Angeles.

The restaurant staff are very attentive to ensure that all the guests requirements are met and nothing is too much trouble. The menu has a very bistro, tapas feel to it and the food was to a high standard to match the service.

This is a venue that Derbyshire Event & Wedding Planners are looking forward to using for events and weddings.

DIY Wedding Favours

One of our brides this summer made her own faboulous wedding favours based on a recipe in the Good Food magazine by Sarah Cook. (see photo)

Check their website for other favour ideas.

These are fantastic as a personalised gift or for the bride who has a budget to stick to, our bride made the cookies in advance and froze them. A few nights before the wedding a group of us filled the clear cellophane bags with the delicious cookies, then stapled the labels she had already made with the guests names printed onto the bag, doubling up as a place setting.

Genius idea, good fun and they definately add the personal touch, although packing so many did make you not want to eat any more!

(The ingredients can be put on the label reverse for any guests with allergies)

Masquerade Ball

The Masquerade Ball at Grassmoor Golf Centre definately was a night to remember.

Wendy Watson and Becky Measures and their guests joined the ball goers as they danced to the fabulous entertainment provided by Michael Moore, Donna Ramsdale, Lee Hutton and Melissa Amy Lye. Grassmoor Golf Centre had the food and drink flowing freely all evening and James was kept busy on the Cocktail Bar as the guests partied the night away.

Love Candy Cakes showstopping cake took centre stage for guests to guess the weight and the winner took home the delightful 5 tier cake.

The official photographer Andy from Studio 1 Photography was kept very busy all evening as he captured the essence of the event until the early hours of the morning.

Black Tie Masquerade Ball

Wow.... our Ball in November in a themed Marquee at Grassmoor Golf Centre has sold out in a week and we have had to halt all promotion due to the amazing sell out!!!

One of our sponsors Lynsey at Bimbo Design is coming up with some amazing artwork for the event which we wait in anticipation to see. A massive thank you to Lynsey and our other sponsors helping us raise funds in aid of Hereditary Breast Cancer Helpline.

Our entertainment on the night will include the fabulous Donna Ramsdale who has extensive repertoire and guarantees to have everyone dancing. Check out Donna's website to see her in action. Alongside Donna will be Michael Moore who has been a regular in the Manchester Club scene and has entertained Sir Alex Ferguson and guests at their Christmas Party two years running. Michael has an extensive repertoire ranging from Frank Sinatra, Neil Diamond, Michael Buble, Take That, Robbie Williams, Spandau Ballet, ABC and many more. I am sure Donna and Michael will be keeping all the guests entertained until the early hours of the morning..

Charity Casino Night - Grassmoor Golf Centre

What a night to remember.......

The Charity Casino Night on 7 August 2010 in aid of Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity was a huge success as described by the Lady Captain Sue:

"Well that was superb! Can't thank you enough for what you have done to help Chris and I with the charity fund raising by organising the Casino Night. It was a huge success, everyone enjoyed themselves and really got into the theme of the night. The singers were fantastic, it was brilliant to see most people on their feet and dancing by the end of the evening. I wish you all at Derbyshire Wedding and Event Planners every success for the future, if you keep organising events like this one you are going to be run off your feet."

Making this night successful was definately a team effort and in particular professional input from:

Sarah & Rogers Wedding - 24.7.10

The wedding day of Sarah and Roger finally arrived with blue sky and sun always a bonus....

Sarah arrived in style in a Tuk Tuk.....

Sarah has been a very hands on bride and as she puts it ' has still felt in control'.

The wedding cake was created by Sarah's sister and Sarah made the cookie favours for the guests, that we all sat down and packaged a few nights earlier. All the flower arrangements and the bride and bridesmaid flowers where created by Jackie who works inconjunction with Derbyshire Wedding Planners.

The reception at Ashover Parish Hall was decorated to Sarah and Rogers specification and it was no coincidence that the indian feast that the guests tucked into with gusto, was provided by the very restuarant Maazi's Indian Restaurant of Matlock where Sarah and Roger had their first date.
