Charity Summer Ball in aid of NHBCH

 

In September we held our annual Charity Ball and this year our chosen charity was for the very inspirational Wendy Watson who has spearheaded the National Hereditary Breast Cancer Helpline, won Tesco Mother of the Year and also successfully published a book about her struggles to raise awareness called 'I'm still standing'.

The event was a complete sell out and we had a fantastic night which included a drinks reception, 4 course meal, silent auction and entertainment from:

• Female vocalist Melissa Amy Lye currently studying at Sir Paul McCartneys Performing Arts University (LIPA)
• Swing male vocalist Chris Heathcote
• Female vocalist Laura Ashby recent winner of Chesterfields 'Search for a Star' - Laura released her debut single on 1st October 2012 to coincide with the 5th anniversary of Help for Heroes charity. All profits from the sale of the CD will be donated to the charity.
• Headline Band - 'BOYZALOUD' a 4 piece local Take That/Westlife tribute band who have played our events before and never dissapoint the guests
• Tenacious DJ finished the event into the early hours

The event raised £1200 towards NHBCH for the continued awareness raising that Wendy and her gang of helpers do tirelessly.

Laura & Steve's Wedding - Peak Edge Hotel at the Red Lion

Supporting Laura and Steve throughout the whole of their wedding planning was a pleasure so that we could ensure that their special day was everything they could have wished for.

We recommended many of the fantastic suppliers that we work with and Laura and Steve were not disappointed with the standards to ensure that everything was perfect for them.

Finding the venue was not difficult as The Peak Edge Hotel at the Red Lion at Stan Edge fit all the requirements.

Emma at Clover Leaf designed the invitations to Laura and Steve's exact specification and some were completed early so the couple could take them to South Africa the year before to deliver to Steve's family.

Laura had already seen a dress prior to her visit to Steph at Gracie Blue at Matlock, but had not really found 'The Dress' and to be fair it was a close call between the classy sophisticated dress or the princess dress...... classy sophistication won...

Gel Bridal Style - Geraldine and Sara(Laura's Sister) spent the morning perfecting Laura and the bridesmaids hair and make up.

Tineke Floral Designs Ltd were the next on the tick list and Kerry provided Laura with some fantastic flowers and table centre displays.

Candy at Love Candy Cakes was in high demand as Steve loved going back for more cake tasting to finally decide on the flavours of their 3 tier bow and broach cake.

Having Angela and Sarah from Forever Young Photography to capture the day meant that the photographs were in safe hands as they were kept busy throughout the day.

The Peak Edge Hotel at the Red Lion and Carly in particular were fabulous and I felt reasurred being a guest on the day is always difficult for a Wedding Planner as it is difficult to switch off. In Carly's capable hands I had no reservations, the service and food were excellent.

Michael Moore was the Buble tribute that started the evening off as guests danced the night away......

This wedding was made extra special by all the South African family members who had travelled over for the wedding.......

Charity Summer Ball - in aid of NHBCH

We are extremely excited for our Charity Ball this Saturday at Casa Hotel in aid of National Hereditary Breast Cancer Helpline spearheaded by the amazing Wendy Watson.

It is very humbling when you know what Wendy has achieved and how she has campained tirelessly against bureacracy, so we are only to happy to do our bit and help raise vital funds to support this courageous woman.

Wendy has published a book 'I'm still Standing' of her struggle and support she has given to thousands of women fighting this disease.

Abba Tribute Event

'Dancing queen feel the beat of the tamberine'.......... although this event was a few months ago the pictures show what a fabulous night this was.

Alot of the photographs are courtesy of Ian Boler Photography who was snapping away all evening.

Our guests had the pleasure of Luke Michael who opened the evenings entertainment getting the party started in great style followed by the rendition of Abba songs from the Abba Tribute girls Agnetha & Frida.

Festival wedding for 2013

Busy few months and Derbyshire Event and wedding planners as we are busy planning a fantastic Festival themed wedding for Leanne and Tom for August 2013. This is going to be so unusual and quirky and we are really looking forward to this wedding with such a wonderful couple.

In September we have the wedding of Laura and Stephen which only seems 2 mins away that we sat down to plan...... where has the time gone?

This is a really special wedding having known Laura since she was a teenager to help her plan the wedding of her dreams to Stephen who's family are flying in from South Africa is going to be awesome.......


September is our Charity Ball at Casa Hotel and this is pactically a sell out event where we hope to raise lots of money for the National Hereditary Breast Cancer Helpline - a very worthy cause and local charity.......

Lizzie & John's Wedding @ Cressbrook Hall

We had the privilege of doing our 'On the day Co-ordination' for Lizzie and John who held their wedding at the fabulous Cressbrook Hall in Derbyshire.

The theme of the wedding was 1940's Vintage and this couple were very hands on and creative when it came to how they wanted the venue to look for their special day.

Lizzie and John's attention to detail was very impressive even down to the hand made bunting,decorations and some of the hand picked meadow flowers all added to the special touches that they had planned.

Jemma Watts – owner & photographer of Pearl Pictures made the special day for Lizzie and John even more special with the amazing pictures she captured throughout the day.

Some of our favourite suppliers were also involved in making this day truly special for Lizzie and John with the flowers provided by Kerry of Tineke Floral Designs Ltd and Tenacious DJ.

This wonderful couple made our job so enjoyable leading up to and on the day and after such awful weather even the sun came out in time so they could have their ceremony outside and then celebrate with the superb scenery that Cressbrook Hall offers in the beautiful Peak District.

Back to work with a bang after a few weeks off.....

This week we have a catch up meeting with couple who are getting married in September and then a consultation meeting with a new couple on Sunday.

Pleased to have Leanne & Tom on board for a very Bespoke wedding next year, looking forward to getting involved in this one.....

In May helped had the delight of helping one of our favourite suppliers Kerry at Tineke Floral Designs Ltd her displays are amazing and so beautiful no wonder we always point our brides in her direction....

Nancy & James Wedding 28.4.12

The day started with no rain after a shocking week of bad weather and we had fingers crossed that the sun might come out for this fabulous couple on their big day.

Nancy and James had made sure everything that had been thought of to create a special day for everyone who was at the ceremony at Bolsover Castle followed by their reception at Fox & Goose, Old Brampton.

Having Simon Revill as their Photographer we knew straight away come rain or shine they would have some stunning pictures and he did not disappoint providing some amazing shots at the Castle and at the Reception.

By mid afternoon there was a gale blowing it was overcast and a sky full of rain, this did not dampen the spirits of all the guests who tucked into cocktail flavoured sorbet from the ice cream cart, had great fun with the DIY photobooth and then enjoyed the delights of the Candy Buffet after the meal before they partied the night away to the sounds of AS Party DJ.

We have 3 very busy weeks upon us now - venue visit tomorrow with Serena & Richard one of our 2013 couples then a girly night doing the favours and finalising details with Nancy & James in readiness for their wedding this weekend at Bolsover Castle ..... Garry & Sharon 9.3.12 Wedding

What a fabulous day for Garry & Sharon on Friday 9 March at Sitwell Arms, Renishaw. Although we have done a few wedding fayres at this venue, this was the first wedding for us.

I have to say the staff were extremely helpful and paid attention to detail to ensure that everything went smoothly. Lesley the Co-ordinator there is very professional, approachable and meticulous with the running of the day. Needless to say everything ran like clockwork. Even the sun came out for photographs.

We had some great suppliers working alongside us for the day:


*Candy from Love Candy Cakes created a masterpiece with Garry and Sharon figures sat on the top of the cake

*Kerry from Tineke Floral Designs supplied the most amazing flowers

*Cally from Chocally provided some beautifully boxed handmade chocolates for the favours a Macadamia & Cranberry crunch truffle and a Cherry Brandy truffle - amazing

* Hair by Adele - who looked after Sharon and the Bridesmaids hair creations

In April we have Nancy and James getting married at Bolsover Castle and then their reception at the Fox and Goose, Brampton and we are pleased to be working alongside the fantastic Simon Revill who produces some amazing shots come rain or shine.

Charity Cheque presentation

Derbyshire Event & Wedding Planners celebrated raising £1,700 for Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity at the Cabaret Event held at Casa in February.

A fantastic night could not be hampered even by inches of snow falling, guests arrived and partied the night away on Saturday at the Casa Hotel..

A massive thank you to the girls from Sir Paul McCartneys Institute of Performing Arts who travelled from Liverpool to perform. Also to Donna Ramsdale, fantastic local female vocalist and Adam from DJ Tenacious who had the guests dancing into the early hours...
