Summer Wedding - Laura and Ciaran

This wedding another favourite of ours as it was a very 'hands on' by the whole wedding party and friends.  I remember discussing venues and wedding suppliers and ideas with the bride Laura not long after Ciaran had popped the question.

They decided on the village church at Wingerworth where Laura grew up with a reception at a favourite of ours Casa Hotel in Chesterfield.

The brides mum who is great with flowers and everything craft was keen to help and she had an army of friends helping with flowers and lots of tasks leading up to the day and on the day itself...

Using the flower market in Sheffield meant the group of flower ladies headed by the Mother of the bride spent days conditioning and preparing arrangements for the church, Casa and the bridal party.  They also did us a favour by doing bridal flowers for another wedding we had on the same day.

Laura was a very relaxed bride on the lead up to and on the day itself ...

All the little touches made this wedding very special especially the much appreciated pimms and canapés for guests as they came out of church

Laura and Ciaran disappeared off to Walton Lodge for photos as guests made their way to the Casa Hotel for the celebrations to begin.

Home made cookies were a super treat for all the guests and the purpose cut and polished cheese stand from a family friend was perfect for the Cheese Wedding Cake.

This was a truly special wedding, very relaxed and very family and friend focused, we loved being part of this special day.

Summer Weddings - Matt and Lynsey

It is always a pleasure doing a wedding for someone you know, as you pull out all the stops to ensure they have the day they truly want.

Matt and Lynsey knew exactly what they wanted and what budget they had to make it happen..... This meant calling in a lot of favours luckily lynsey works in the industry as well.

This was always going to be a relaxed wedding with a pub theme and food of their choice.

It wasnt a typical wedding for us helping with service as well as preparing but we were happy to help with a group of staff to ensure the couple got what they wanted.

Lots of family and friends of the couple turned up on Friday to dress the venue to the exacting specifications of the couple's vision..... it looked fabulous....

Matt and Lynsey did so much for this wedding and where very hands on with the  decor, you can see the design flair in all the decoration of the venue.

We pulled in lots of favours for this wedding which cant go un noticed:

**Vintage Tea Belles for the Afternoon tea China
** Pam and the flower Ladies for the bridal party bouquets
** Community Centre for the crockery and equipment
**Sharon and our friends for doing way more than is expected ...

This wedding proves what can be achieved in a village hall with lots of vision

Well done to Matt, Lynsey and all other friends and suppliers in helping them achieve what they wanted for their big day .......

Rachel & Paul - Fab, fun and worth the wait .....

I sat down over a year ago with Rachel and Paul to discuss their engagement and impending wedding and what their wanted their wedding to look like....

The White Hart Inn at Moorewood Moor was the perfect choice for their ceremony  and celebrations. At the time it had recently been approved as a venue to officiate wedding ceremonies. After a few visits to the venue Rachel and Paul decided it was their first choice for their special day...

The indoor and outdoor facilities were perfect for the kind of celebrations they wanted..

A year of planning and using some of our preferred suppliers the result was fabulous...

It has been a pleasure working with this wonderful couple who are clearly well suited and so in love .. A true reflection of what wedding celebrations are all about the commitment to each other surrounded by family and friends....

Round up of the year

This year has been a very enjoyable year for Derbyshire Wedding Planners and Vintage Tea Belles...

For us it is about surrounding yourself with fantastic suppliers, ones who have high standards and will deliver first class service especially for outdoor weddings..

All our weddings have been special in one way or another but one of our memorable weddings was that of Cassie & Phil. They married in Bakewell and then had their celebrations in fields in the Peak District. The elements where against everyone on the day as torrential rain battered the traditional marquee and rain ran like a river down the field... As a planner all you can do is be solution focused and make it work... Thankfully the sun came out later in the day so not all was ruined. And this couple were so relaxed and just rolled with it.... After all you can plan as much as you like but no one controls the weather !

The marquee held it's own, likewise the wedding of Guy & Katie another outdoor wedding where our friends Duncan & Mathew aka Peak Tipis provided stunning Tipis for the celebrations at Monsal Dale in the Peak Dustrict. The rain all evening didn't stop the partying and inside the Tipis it was as if there was not a drop of rain outside..

This year Vintage Tea Belles launched their range of vintage Hen accessories and are proving very popular

We also started providing chair covers as a service which is also going well our last event this Saturday ...

And finally Derbyshire Wedding Planners made Regional Finalist in the Wedding Industry Awards to complete our round up of 2014..... So from our team we want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year ...
